Our Walk
From the
Editors
So
easy to be in relationship, so hard to relate.
Stephen Levine
Now, thats something most of us can relate to! Ah, relationships
those inescapable experiences that every being on the planet must contend
with. As long as were alive, we are always experiencing some type
of relationship whether it be with relatives, friends, the workplace,
pets, the environment or romantic partners. This is The Relationship Issue,
so weve explored the realm of relationships; including some that
may be outside the so-called norm.
Its no accident that Valentines Day comes in February
the "dead" of winter-- the coldest and bleakest time of the
year. So, with that in mind, weve included writings teeming with
information that are certain to heat things up.
Authors Gay and Kathlyn Hendricks, a couple of 25 years, tell us about
Rekindling Sexual Passion. They endorse the
use of a very powerful sexual stimulant honesty. Not only is honesty
the best policy, but also "its the best aphrodisiac there is."
The Hendricks maintain that withholding significant information
stops the flow of harmony, and with it, sexual energy and desire.
Sharon Klingler provides the "missing link" in helping you determine
your connectedness with your partner with her 12-question quiz, The
Intuitive, Spiritual Link Are You and Your Partner Connected?
Take the quiz for the fun of it. You just may discover what has been "missing"
in your relationship (or not!)
Do you want to know the secret to finding quality love? To find out, read
Sandra Anne Taylors piece entitled, How to
Attract Quality Relationships.
That Radical Sage, Robert Rabbin, amusingly "outs" himself in
his offering My Sexual Orientation. Mr. Rabbin
continues to champion spiritual activism, i.e., political involvement,
in order to manifest positive change. He clarifies his stance by reminding
us of the dictionary definition of the word politics: The inter-relationships
among people in a society.
Jean-Claude Koven examines our relationship to God from the perspective
of the worlds major religions. In Where in
Gods Name Did We Go Wrong?, he suggests that an overly solemn
view of God, as well as our not fully understanding the word omnipresence,
serves to create distance between God and us. Expressions like God
fearing folk, worm their way into our language and ultimately reside
in our thoughts and beliefs.
Gabriel Cousens returns with a voice for compassion in Vegan
Diet and Ahimsa. He reveals how the practice of non-harming benefits
not only the individual, but also every living being, including our planet.
And, on an entirely different front, I expose the damage that is willfully
wrought upon some parent-child relationships when couples split up. Parental
Poison: A Glimpse into the Nightmare of Parental Alienation, explicitly
details how an embittered and vengeful spouse can completely alienate
a child or children from the other parent. Its not pleasant; but
please consider reading it. Recognizing the signs may prove to be a valuable
tool.
Reader, Laurie Mandel called our office hoping that we would "expand
the Personals section for other like-minded people who choose to take
care of their bodies & spirit. I think this magazine is the place
to meet those type of people." Laurie, we agree. Now we just have
to get all those like-minded/kindred spirits to send in their personals
ads.
On a very sad note, the Creations family suffered a terrible loss with
the passing of one of our distributors. Paul Dobsovits, 48, of Glen Cove,
died just 10 days before Christmas. Paul, an accountant by day, and his
12 year-old daughter Tara, had been delivering Creations to businesses
throughout Nassaus north shore. Our deepest sympathy goes out to
Tara and Pauls widow, Janet. And we extend our deepest gratitude
to Paul for his enthusiasm and conscientiousness. We have lost a good
man.
In looking ahead, Creations Magazine will continue to evolve. Vijay and
Connie have moved on (see Truth and Madness) and this ol zine (20
years) is soon to be getting a makeover. Positive changes are in the offing,
as Creations will be redesigned, receiving a fresh, updated look intended
to make the magazine more reader-friendly. Included in the remodeling
project, will be a switch from newsprint to a better grade paper stock.
This heavier, whiter paper will afford an upgraded image resulting in
clearer photos, brighter graphics and advertisements and of course, more
pleasurable reading.
Remaining intact will be all the aspects that you like best. Our top priority,
as always, is to maintain Creations integrity running articles that
first and foremost, serve to inform, educate and enlighten our readers.
In a nutshell, that means staying true to our tag line found on the cover
of every issue: INSPIRING THE SOUL: HEALING, CREATIVITY & DOWN TO
EARTH SPIRITUALITY.
Advertisers, readers: If you like what were doing and the direction
were headed, please lend us your support. If you have any suggestions
for improving Creations, tell us. Email your thoughtful comments to neil@creationsmagazine.com.
Through these efforts, that we endeavor to deepen our Relationship with
you.
Peace & Blessings,
