You don’t have to raise your voice to get attention. You need to raise your consciousness. – Alan Cohen Shocking, Horrific, Devastating: just a few of the reactions being shouted through the airwaves and cyberspace in the days following the results of the presidential election. My goodness, you’d think they were talking about a cataclysmic event that killed thousands of people. To be clear, I did not vote for the President-elect. I even avoided mentioning the man’s name in the weeks leading up to the election. The thing is, the more energy and attention you give something, the bigger and stronger it becomes. It would be helpful now to heed the lesson spelled out on the cover of our August-September ‘16 Issue, to “Focus Only on What You Want” (and NOT on what you don’t want). An inordinate amount of the anxiety we experience daily stems from the fear of what we think “might” happen. While we are creating real anxiety (along with the attendant adverse health effects and emotional upset), our fears very rarely come to pass. Ideally, we want to be moving toward greater self-empowerment. The reactionary and highly inflammable “sky is falling” rant repeated in many quarters, carries the potential unintended consequence of disempowering us both individually and collectively. It’s painfully apparent why many are feeling frightened, but the acute indignation and fear seems to be a glaring example of “Focusing on what you don’t want.” Some brilliant words from Gregg Braden apply here: Every moment of every day, what you feel in your heart is a command in the Mind of God. The Mind of God interprets our feelings very, very literally. So what that means — to borrow from Wayne Dyer — You don’t manifest what you want, you manifest what you are. That certainly gives me pause. Might be a good thing to reconsider hanging on to that anger, bitterness, hate and horror. In “every moment of every day,” we can practice spiritual alchemy and transmute those leaden self-defeating emotions by choosing golden thoughts, words and feelings of love, compassion and forgiveness for those who seem to be less “awake.” Regardless of who holds the “title” over the next few years, every day, we the people can choose to act and speak from our soul’s highest expression — a place of peace and collaboration. This holiday season — and every season, “Let love be your guide in all circumstances, and make no exceptions as every soul responds to such a powerful energy … Without prejudice, and with all the love you can muster, send out your highest energy to those who perpetrate criminal acts upon the people. If you can, it will be one of the most earth changing acts you can take part in.” Peace All-ways, P.S.
