The cover title of our August/September Back to School issue encourages us to Open to Enlightenment. Enlightenment seems like some pretty heady stuff -- a level attained only by the spiritual adepts. But fortunately for us novices, this “club” is not as exclusive as it sounds and the membership requirements are few. The dictionary definition of enlightened is to be informed. Through our mindfulness practice, life experiences, meditation, yoga, etc., we gain greater insights. Our level of enlightenment grows & expands in the “classroom” of life. An elementary tenet to attaining enlightenment is practicing unconditional love. In this issue, Mike Quinsey teaches us that Love Will Lift Up Humanity. “As you evolve, you will find that you are able to express love as a selfless act. Love for an individual soul is more on an emotional level, whereas unconditional love knows no boundaries, has no preferences and is shared with all.” Quinsey notes that we will be better served if we all speak and act from the heart center. And science bears this out. Recently, I saw an interview, in which scientist/ author, Greg Braden explained that scientific data reveals that the brain emits a relatively weak electromagnetic field compared to the heart. The heart is in fact, the most powerful electromagnetic field in the human body. These impulses are energy -- which can be measured. Satellites, 22,000 miles out in space are measuring the magnetic field that surrounds the earth – the same field that connects and sustains all life on this planet. You have no doubt heard and read countless times in these pages and elsewhere that we are all connected. Well it gets even better: When many humans (critical mass) choose to feel the same emotion (Mass Coherent Emotion) such as compassion, empathy, forgiveness and gratitude, this energy is so strong that it effects changes in the earth’s grid -- these changes are registering in the magnetic field that are literally being measured by scientists. This is exiting stuff: Emotions are both tangible and quantifiable! Science has proven that when enough of us want to bring about positive change, we the people have the power to do it. We need to move out of our head and into our heart. Also, please make it a point to read our Film Reviews of Killer at Large, FoodMatters, Making a Killing and Autism: Made in the USA. Be it about the obesity epidemic, our food choices, the psychotropic drugging of America or the autism/vaccination issue, these films contain invaluable information. In Peace & Gratitude,
